Founded in 1972, Scan Choco is today one of Denmark’s largest family-owned companies in the confectionery and chocolate sector. Together with three other wholesalers, Jens-Jacob Hyllested established the company with the aim of creating a stable import and distribution business that could deliver new and competitively priced products to the Danish retail market.
From the very beginning, the foundation was built on a broad product range, efficient logistics, and strong customer relationships. Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, the company grew significantly and expanded its partnerships with both retail chains and wholesalers.
In 2009, Scan Choco moved to new headquarters in Hinnerup, combining administration, high-capacity warehousing, and packing facilities under one roof. This enabled an even more efficient management of product range, orders, and logistics.
Since then, the company has grown through strategic acquisitions, including Nordisk Chokolade Import and Maribo Sukkervarefabrik, strengthening both the product range and our market position.
Today, Scan Choco is led by the second generation, Kristian Hyllested. With more than 50 years of experience, we are a solid and professional partner. Our strength lies in the combination of family ownership, a stable foundation, and modern logistics – always with a focus on flexibility, reliable delivery, and meeting market demands.
